| Post-stroke upper limb motor dysfunction exhibits a high incidence rate, with its rehabilitation process characterized by significant complexity and prolonged duration, severely impacting patients’ independence in daily living and quality of life. Graded motor imagery (GMI) therapy, integrating the advantages of motor imagery and mirror therapy, demonstrates promising potential in upper limb rehabilitation for stroke patients. This review summarizes the current applications and research progress of GMI in post-stroke upper limb rehabilitation, covering its fundamental concepts, mechanisms of action, and related research findings. Future directions may involve combining this therapy with diverse treatment modalities to explore more personalized and systematic rehabilitation pathways, thereby enhancing rehabilitation outcomes and patients’ quality of life. |
