EN Abstract:
The priming paradigm of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) represents an optimized neuromodulatory approach based on metaplasticity mechanisms. This paradigm involves the pre-application of a different or identical NIBS intervention to modulate neuronal activity and synaptic plasticity, thereby enhancing the effects of the main NIBS intervention. Although this paradigm has shown promising clinical potential, its underlying principles, mechanisms, and therapeutic efficacy remain unclear. This review aims to summarize the current research on the priming paradigm of NIBS, providing a reference for expanding its clinical applications.
