| EN Abstract: |
| Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS), a non-invasive neuromodulation technique, has shown emerging potentiality in recent years for improving motor dysfunction caused by central nervous system (CNS) disorders. The core mechanism of taVNS treatment lies in activating the “peripheral-central” pathway to precisely regulate motor cortical plasticity, reshape neurotransmitter balance, and activate the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway to mitigate neuroinflammation. This article systematically reviews the latest research progress on taVNS for modulating motor dysfunction in CNS disorders, integrating mechanistic studies with clinical evidences. The aim of this article review is to provide novel insights and approaches for motor function recovery in CNS disorders and promote the clinical application of taVNS. |
